June 2014 - Late Spring Survey
What a lovely late spring morning, plenty of sunshine with some cloud too. My walk around the hotel grounds took in some highs and also a few lows. Let’s talk about the lows first. The meadow on the left hand side of the entrance drive, when you first turn in from Penns Lane had been cut, but unfortunately the grass cuttings had been left where they fell. If this meadow was to be a lawned area, then all would be fine. But however, the meadow has been designated as a wildflower meadow. This requires a different approach to its management.
